The Minor Hockey Foundation Ontario (MHF) is a not-for-profit organization that is hosting the fourth annual Let's Learn Hockey Program in Kingston , Ontario on Saturday May 6 th , 2006. This program is in partnership with Bell True Sport, Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Canada, the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA), the Ontario Children's Aid Society, and the Town of Kingston . The Let's Learn Hockey Program will provide 36 children between the ages of seven and eleven years old with a full set of new hockey equipment, the chance to attend a one-day skills clinic, and funding for registration fees for the 2006-2007 season. Since it was established in 2000, the Minor Hockey Foundation Ontario, the OMHA's charity of choice, has been focused on giving kids who would otherwise not be able to play, a chance to play hockey and assist current minor hockey players with financial assistance for their post-secondary education. “The MHF is very excited about the 2006 Let's Learn Hockey Program and the partnerships that have been created throughout. Financial support from Bell True Sport and various OMHA events has made our dream of this program a reality,” explains MHF President, John Archibald. “Hockey is ‘our game' and we would like to share the experience of participating in the game with as many people as possible. The time and effort that is put forth by everyone involved, volunteers, coaches, and associations is very much appreciated, without these people this event would not be possible.” The clinic runs from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm at the Cataraqui Community Center in Kingston , Ontario . Registration and equipment fitting occurs from 9:00 am – 10:30 am. A full agenda can be obtained by contacting the MHF. Where: When: For more information, contact : |
